Edema After Hair Transplant

Edema After Hair Transplant

Edema After Hair Transplant
A postoperative edema can be observed in patients within the first week after hair transplant. Things to do to prevent the edema from growing and reaching harmful levels are very clear and simple. Patients, who have undergone a hair transplant operation, usually complain about a postoperative edema. However, when we talk based on the percentage, this does not correspond to a big figure.

How does edema develop after hair transplant?

Edema after hair transplant can occur in certain cases such as the friction of the scabby area against the bed when sleeping after hair transplant, the use of aspirin like drugs without doctor’s advice, stressful works, exercise etc. When the page titled 'the things to do after hair transplant' is examined, such as situation cannot be encountered. If edema occurs after hair transplant, it should definitely be reported to the specialist because in some cases, the edema can reach the facial area and becomes disturbing in terms of appearance.

What should we do to avoid edema formation after hair transplant?

As we mention on every occasion, if you cooperate with a specialist physician, he/she will give you detailed information about what you must do before and after hair transplant. However, if your physician did not allocate time for you in this regard, you can minimize the risk of edema formation by applying the followings.

-Keep acting meticulously in terms of hygiene rules after the exfoliation of scabs.
-Do not definitely lift heavy things.
-If your scabs are still there and swellings have occurred, consult your physician.
-Abstain from using drugs that you have not reported to your physician.
-If you have drugs that your physician has given, make sure you use them in a timely manner.
-Abstain from doing any activities that may overstrain your body.
- We recommend you to do exercise.
-Avoid situations that may excessively affect your blood pressure (anxiety, stress, etc.)

When you are careful about avoiding such conditions, it is almost impossible for you to see your doctor due to edema. Because hair transplant operations are the operations that are almost done every day, unfortunately, their importance can be underestimated by specialists. For this reason, listen carefully to what your physician says after the operation. If you don't want to leave the result of your hair transplant to chance and encounter bad surprises, knowing what you must do in a few days before having a hair transplant are important, as well.
