Beard and Mustache Transplant
Beard and Mustache Transplant
Loss of mustache and beard has both genetic and hormonal (endocrinologic) aspects. But endocrinologic and genetic tests do not always give result. Moreover, they usually cannot give result. If the person has reached the age of 20 but his beard or mustache grows incompletely or partially, hair transplant is the only option. In some cases, even if hair grows, it may be irregular and thin. Or any gaps (hairless areas) may form in the facial area due to any accident.
All these situations are quite annoying and have a psychologically adverse effect on people. It may cause loss of self-confidence in the individuals.
In both beard and mustache transplant operations, the FUE technique is applied, and hair follicles are taken one by one from the same area, i.e. the upper nape of the neck between the two ears. These hair follicles (grafts) are stored in appropriate liquids.
Of course, it is very important to GIVE DIRECTION in beard and mustache transplant. When planting hair in these areas, the channel opening technique is used in such a way as to allow for giving direction, as different form classical channel opening technique. In these procedures, the angles of the hair follicles given direction are very different from that of the hair on the scalp.
The operation that takes a few hours is done under local anesthesia. Thus, people obtain a natural beard in a short time, without feeling any pain.
The first stage is the stage of operational planning. The stage involves drawings and measurements. The condition of the individual is evaluated. A plan is made in cooperation with the patient to determine the number of hair follicles to be transplanted and the transplant procedure.
The second stage is the stage of local anesthesia. At this stage, the application areas are numbed for ensuring the patient to undergo a comfortable and painless operation.
The third stage is the stage of taking hair follicles. Hair follicles to be planted into the beard and mustache areas are taken from the donor area by means of a special device (micro-motor), and sometimes with manually operated PUNCHes.
The fourth stage is the stage of preparing channels for the plantation of the hair follicles. At this point, very fine special channel opening devices are used. In this procedure, the channel opening procedure will be carried out in such a way as to allow for giving direction to the transplanted hair follicles according to the original beard shape. Otherwise, the result will be a disappointment. Pain or ache is not felt during the channel opening process.
The fifth and last stage is the stage of transplanting the hair follicles. The hair follicles taken from the donor area are placed into the previously opened channels one by one, by means of special devices, and the patient is allowed to go home after a one-hour rest.
After the beard transplant, the transplanted hair do not undergo a falling-off stage like the hair in the scalp, or maybe undergoes such a stage for a short time. After a period of 2 months, the beard that has grown does not fall off again.
The patient can get a shave 20-25 days after the beard transplant. It has no drawback.
The results are natural. The operation can be noticeable in the first 10 days but after the exfoliation of scabs, nobody can notice that you have had a beard and mustache transplant. However, you should comply with the postoperative care principles. During the healing period, you will definitely need to use certain medications and cures that we will recommend you.
