Face and Neck Lift (Rhytidectomy)

Face and Neck Lift (Rhytidectomy)

The loose skin and sagging adipose tissues, which are caused by gravity, stress, sunlight and other effects, may lead the person to look old. Losing the skin's elasticity is a little bit genetic. Face lift surgery cannot stop aging, but can turn the clock a little bit back and enables the skin to look better.

This surgery done under general anesthesia takes about 3 to 4 hours. When required, neck lift, correction of eyelid wrinkles, forehead lift and brow lift can be added to this surgery. Vacuum drains placed on the face to prevent the accumulation of blood are generally removed 1-2 days after operation. Swelling and bruising that may develop on the face disappear within 3 weeks. During this period, the patient may be unable to perform certain facial expressions. Patients usually begin to feel better after the third week.

The operation does not leave a noticeable scar because it involves incisions made in such a way as to be well-matched with the natural facial lines. Remaining scars have acceptable features. Since the patient gets rid of the symptoms of premature aging, a significant increase is observed in the self-confidences of people who have had this surgery.

You will gain a more dynamic and youthful appearance after the surgery; and therefore, your self-confidence will increase. The sutures are removed on the 5th day after the surgery. If you use lenses, you should stop using them for a period of about 2 weeks. Within about 3 to 4 weeks, your skin will have gained a surgery youthful appearance.
