Mustache, Beard and Eyebrow Transplantation

Mustache, Beard and Eyebrow Transplantation

Although beard and mustache transplantation is similar to hair transplantation, it has several important distinctive features. In order to have a natural appearance after beard transplantation and mustache transplantation, grafts must be transplanted with lateral slit technique. The exit directions and planting angles of the grafts to be planted should be calculated very well. If the transplanted grafts are planted with wrong angles, the beard and mustache will grow vertically.

Planting angles of each grafted hair follicles should be calculated according to needed area. Planting should be done at an angle of 20 or 30 degrees. Your doctor will determine degrees of angles to be applied to each required area before planting and how many grafts should be used. Thus, vertical growing like grass is prevented and a natural beard and mustache appearance is gained after planting.

In beard transplantation and mustache, just like hair transplantation, hair follicles will be taken from the nape area. Only very thin and fine punch should be used for beard and mustache transplant. For this, we usually use a 0.6 mm diameter punch. Thus, there is no scar in the donor area and single grafts we target are at the maximum level. No matter how many grafts are planted in beard and mustache transplantation, they must be single grafts. If the grafts we take are 2-folded, they separated to single.

If the person’s beard needed area is small, firstly channels are opened and then single grafts are collected from donor area according to the number of these channels.

In the absence of a full beard, it can be planted with 3,500 – 4,000 grafts.

For people who do not have a mustache, when planting in the mustache region, a 400-800 graft can be planted.

Eyebrow Transplantation:

As with beard and mustache transplantation, eye brow transplantation must be perfom very carefully for growth direction of the grafts. Eyebrow transplantation should not be more than 20 degrees. We can do this with the lateral slit technique as in beard and mustache transplantation.

Once the grafts will be collected from the donor area ( nape ) for eyebrow transplantation, there will be growing differences between the old eyebrow and the new eyebrow. This requires frequent trimming for up to two years. But after 2 years, it becomes more coherent with the eyebrow area.

Process After Beard and Mustache Transplantation

After 48 hours of the procedure, washing sessions take place in where beard and mustache are planted. You should continue following sessions as instructed by your surgeon. Planted beards become visible as 2-3 days beard appearance is formed. The redness and acne like redness may occur after planting which is normal and disappears within 2 weeks, but the redness can take up to 6 weeks. Beard and mustache that grow longer after the 4th week can be shortened with scissors. After 8 – 10 months, the process ends and your completed new beard and mustache begin to appear. Hair roots continue to increase quality up to 2 years. In all these processes, we serve you 24/7 on our clinic and online consultancy.
