Hair Transplantation

FUE(Follicular Unit Extraction) Hair Transplant is a technique that involves the extraction of hair islets called ‘graft’ (follicularunits) from the scalp area located between the two ears in nape ofthe neck, and then their plantation into the channels opened in the hairless areas. This is a procedure carried out under local anesthesia. The meaning of the word 'FUE' is actually indicates ahair extraction technique. Hair extraction is technically done in two ways.
1)Extraction by means of a micromotor:
An apparatuscalled 'punch' that has a diameter of 0.6-0.8 mm is attached tothe tip of a micromotor or a motor called 'FUE motor. The rotationalspeed of the motor is adjusted to the optimum value, and then thehair follicles are extracted (one by one or in groups containing twoor three follicles). In addition, the depth of the punch can beadjusted in accordance with the patient's skin thickness.
2)Extraction with manual punch:
It is aprocess that involves the extraction of the grafts manually, i.e. byhand and with the help of a punch attached to the tip of a tool suchas a pen. This technique is used by a very limited number of people, and has always been controversial. Even experts, who know the valueof extraction with the manual punch technique, are unaware of howimportant differences exist between the micromotor and manual punchtechniques, while they write and state that these two techniques givevery similar results.
There aresome facts that we cannot ignore:
a) The manualpunch technique takes a lot of time.

With thistechnique, it is difficult to extract more than 2,500 grafts per day.
b) Generallytwo days are allocated for a person.
And this is avery serious loss of time.
c) It is alittle expensive process that cannot be easily marketed.
Even thosewho do not advocate it although they know its value are aware of thefacts that;

a) The lossof graft does not exceed 1-2% in extraction processes carried outwith manual punch. The losses with micromotors are between 10 and15%.
b) In case ofextraction with manual punch, the operation leaves no scar in theextraction (donor) area. No trauma occurs. 2 days after thecompletion of the hair transplant, the donor area seems like an area, where such an extraction process has not been carried out.

No matter howlow the speed is during the extraction with a motor, the techniquecannot be as harmless as the manual punch technique. Micromotor ispreferred in the market at the rate of 98% - 99% because it allowsfor rapid processes and lower costs.
In ourclinic, extraction process can be carried out with both the manualpunch and micromotor techniques.
We recommendthe patients to prefer the manual punch technique if they can affordto do so.
The secondphase of hair transplant is the process of channel opening. Twotechniques are used for the process of channel opening in the market.
1) Sagittal(vertical) slit technique: It is a channel opening technique used inthe market at the rate of 98%.
However, giving both direction and angle to the hair can be difficult incertain regions.
2) Lateral(horizontal) slit technique: It is a channel opening technique usedby a very limited number of people, which allows for giving thedesired direction and angle to the hair in any plantation region. The channel opening technique that we prefer in our clinic is thelateral slit

Hair Transplantation Information

Fue Hair Transplant2

We see some women with very thin hair, whose scalps are highly visible. They have no chance other than having a hair transplant or using a wig. When such women decide to have a hair transplant..

Edema After Hair Transplant

A postoperative edema can be observed in patients within the first week after hair transplant. Things to do to prevent the edema from growing and reaching harmful levels are very clear and simple.

Beard and Mustache Transplant

Loss of mustache and beard has both genetic and hormonal (endocrinologic) aspects. But endocrinologic and genetic tests do not always give result. Moreover, they usually cannot give result.

Natural Hair Transplant

It includes the procedures called natural hair transplant, preferred generally by our conscious visitors, by which the hair looks like as if it has not undergone any operation. It was very difficult to achieve such a natural appearance with the old hair t
